The Murder
Do Not watch if you are sensitive to blantant brutility and murder. Do Not watch if you do not want this to replay in your head. This is real life.
This will help you understand why the family is seeking justice. This will help you to know that this can happen to you, your child, your uncle, sister, brother, any family member.
The public servant that killed my son did not know if my son was a registered gun owner (he is), that public servant did not know if my son had his CCW (we found out, he did not), yet he chose to shoot, without warning, 13 rounds into my son's back, hitting him 11 times.
Watch at your own risk.
Family Needs, not just Wants Justice for Augustine
I'd like to thank David Greenwald for following up on our story. Many media outlets jumped on the story when it happened and days after, but never followed up with the truth when the video was released. The Media followed the false narrative provided by the police and why they didn't follow up and inform the public of the truth baffles me. Even after the video was released they FAILED to update the community/the viewers, leaving those that do not know the family or Augustine, to believe the first false narrative! As much as police brutality needs to stop, so does the media with the false narratives.
Mom and Sister speak with CBS13 Velena Jones
11.16.2021
I'd like to thank Velena Jones for reaching out to us to keep my son's death "alive" in the community and media. What happened to my son should never happen again. The ones that are in our community to uphold peace and ensure our streets are safe, are killing us. This Must Stop. The only way to make this stop is to hold any one who kills another, stand trail for Murder, regardless of their position, status, or job duties. MURDER = MURDER.
There is no justicifaction when you shoot someone in the back, Aug was not a threat, there was no reason to shoot. My son would be here today if this killer would have said one word, "Police". Yet, this killer is still in the community in which he killed an innocent man. Yes, my son had a gun, I know the officer did not know if it was loaded, the FACT remains the same, he should have identified himself. He should have used his voice. Not his weapon. Another FACT, you don't shoot and kill someone for having a gun. Another FACT, the office did not know if my son had his CCW. Yet he chose to shoot a my son in the back, unloading his weapon, killing my son. This should NOT have happened. Another FACT, the office did no tell my son to drop his weapon until AFTER he unloaded his into my sons back, killing him.
